Post #3: Sensing Experiences for Thoughtful Design

This week in my Design Research + Integration class, we did an exercise in which we went out into the world, experienced a service design of some capacity, collected data, and then redesigned an artifact of the experience based on the needs/likes of a randomly generated persona.

This exercise made me think about the complex issue of trying to formulate a design that aims to suit/please most of the customer base, no matter how diverse or different. Sometimes a design can’t please everyone, but I think a good design is able to a capture a range of elements that most people can enjoy and appreciate.
